Our hearts are full of gratitude for each of you who have so generously given financially towards Robert's surgery. Thank you to everyone who has prayed over the years for this surgery to happen.
Robert has been a part of the CORM family for the past 10 years. Since his arrival at CORM, we have been trying to find a surgeon who would be able to do this much needed spinal surgery for him. We pursued doctors and hospitals in both Ghana and the USA. Our hearts hurt every time we were declined.
Over the past several months our dear friend, Grandma Patti, has been passing Robert's case on to every doctor that she could think of. One of the responses she received back from a doctor was to check out FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital in Accra, Ghana.
We had already taken Robert to FOCOS Hospital twice and both times they told us they didn't feel that surgery was his best option. We knew we needed to try FOCOS again and this time we would make his appointment with the founding doctor, Dr. Boachie-Adjie.
After reviewing Robert's x-rays and conducting an exam, Dr. Boachie-Adjie said he felt that surgery would be Robert's best option. Our hearts were full of joy for Robert! This surgery will relieve him of the chronic pain and stress on his back.
On Tuesday, May 14th Robert went in for surgery. He was under anesthesia for 9 hours. Following the surgery, Robert spent the night in the ICU. Yesterday, Pastor Johnbull and I went to see Robert at FOCOS. He is complaining of back pain, but that is to be expected. They are planning to get him up and walking today. Our hope is that he will be home within the week.

It is because of all of you who have so generously given that Robert was able to have this surgery. Please, check back here for updates.
Thank you all for your continued prayers.
